Dear Citizen, Thank you for visiting my campaign website. I consider it a great honor and privilege to serve as your State Treasurer. Fiscal Year 2008 presented tough economic times for both the U.S. and Massachusetts economies. Despite several unprecedented challenges, the State Treasury continued to implement innovative and smart fiscal practices to protect the Commonwealth’s citizens. As State Treasurer, I have a fiduciary responsibility to act in the best interests of state taxpayers and to offer practical solutions for economic hardships. My administration has consistently emphasized holding the line on several fiscal practices by offering resourceful funding solutions in an attempt to fix some of the state’s worst problems. Since I took office in 2003, I have been a proponent for keeping spending low when revenue streams prove to be unreliable. Massachusetts Treasury departments and agencies are outperforming other states despite a struggling economy. Through our strong partnerships with members of the government, business, educational, and non-profit communities, we continue to seek new avenues for growth to bring the Commonwealth future financial stability.
